The St. Olaf men’s and women’s cross country teams will host the NCAA Division-III Central Regional Championships on Nov. 10. The men race at 11 a.m., followed by the women at 12 p.m.
The Ole men enter the meet ranked second in the region and 28th nationally. Having won the MIAC title on Oct. 27, the team looks to show strongly against other Central division schools. Grant Wintheiser ’15, who was the overall winner in the MIAC Championship meet with a time of 25:08.1, will undoubtedly be a strong competitor at the Regional meet.
Meanwhile, the Ole women look to build off their second place finish at the MIAC Championships on Oct. 27. They enter this weekend’s competition ranked third in the region and 18th nationally. Six Oles finished in the top 25 at the MIAC Championships, led by Jorden Johnson ’15 and Emma Lee ’13, who placed second and third overall.
St. Olaf has hosted the NCAA Division-III Championships twice – in 2002 and 2007 – and has hosted the Minnesota State High School Championships for 21 consecutive years.
The men’s and women’s cross country teams look to proceed to the NCAA Division-III Championships at LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 17.
