Sweaters are the perfect fall basics to have. They are warm, knitted, and incredibly comfortable tops. White sweaters, in my opinion, are always the best to have since they pair well with any colored pants. Feeling festive? Red is a passionate and vibrant color to have this fall, complimenting the falling leaves. Orange is a very warm color and the perfect embodiment of cozy. Wanting a more muted fall color? Brown is the perfect warm but subtle autumn color that expresses the notes of nature. Sweaters have been a staple for centuries and for good reason.
Are Ugg slippers back for another year? Although these slippers are a warm and comfortable classic, the Birkenstock Boston clogs have been slowly taking over. These have been climbing the popularity charts throughout the year. They are very similar to the Ugg slippers but have a few notable differences. The Uggs have a fuzzy lining on the inside which makes them very warm for the cold weather on the rise. The Birkenstocks have an open leather upper which creates flexible and supportive wear. But what has been the overall reigning item of clothing for Oles? Ole swag, of course. These are always a good option for an outfit. The latest Ole swag that has taken over closets? The St. Olaf jerseys that the women’s lacrosse team were recently selling. These were such a hit, and for good reason. Students could pick out their favorite black or white jersey with any number. The white and gold jersey had the iconic St. Olaf heading, while the black and gold jersey had the simple lion in the middle. Throw these jerseys over any top — white, black or gold — and create the best spirit outfit. This outfit was a massive hit at the Homecoming football game at the beginning of the month. There are simple t-shirts that work with any pants, sweatpants that are perfect for lounging and lazy days, and of course, who doesn’t love a good sweatshirt to throw on for the colder weather?
