The most recent installment of the “Dragon Ball” franchise, “Dragon Ball Daima,” has already proven to be a major hit and has been enjoyed in the fandom as well as on Netflix’s site. It was released on Netflix on Oct. 18, 2024 and will run for 20 episodes with an episode releasing every Friday. As of November 2024, the show stands at no. 2 in “Kids TV Shows Today” and is “Most Liked” on the site. This series was developed in anticipation of the 40th anniversary of the “Dragon Ball” series, and was announced a year ago at New York Comic Con 2023.
I’ve always been a fan of the “Dragon Ball” franchise since “Dragon Ball Super” and seeing the now-famous Ultra Instinct Goku when I was in middle school, so I was super excited to see a new series celebrating the franchise.
So far, I really like the series, although it has only three episodes out so far. I enjoy the new storyline with both new, up-and-coming characters like Gomah, Glorio, and Degesu, and the same, recurring characters, like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Bulma, and Shin. I’m really excited to see how the story will continue — spoilers ahead — as Goku and friends were all turned into first graders while the main villain, Gomah, kidnapped a baby Dende to hopefully fight Goku as he continues his plan to be the ruler of the Demon Realm.
