The St. Olaf Wellness Center recently debuted a new vending machine. Dedicated to all things wellness — from cough drops and Tylenol to condoms and menstrual products — the machine is located in the tunnel system between Buntrock Commons and Rolvaag Memorial Library. It is easily accessible, just beyond the double doors near the ATM on Buntrock’s first floor.
Some items in the machine — like COVID-19 tests and Plan B — are free, yet users are urged to take only one at a time. Other items and prices range from $1 instant cold packs to a variety of $13 products, such as melatonin gummies, pregnancy tests, and yeast infection treatment.
The Wellness Center stated in an Instagram post that all items in the vending machine are also available from the Health Services office in New Hall, so there is no need to worry in the case that the machine is not fully stocked. Health Services offers the same items for mostly the same prices, as well as some more specialized products, which are all listed on their website. Health Services is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, but the Wellness Center’s new vending machine is accessible whenever Buntrock is open, making it a convenient option for students.
