The holiday season is the perfect time to make memories, and there’s no shortage of fun and festive activities to enjoy with your favorite people! Whether you’re cozying up for a Christmas movie marathon, exploring winter wonderlands, or getting creative around campus, these activities will help you embrace the magic of the season and make the most of every moment!

1. Have a Christmas movie marathon. Grab some eggnog, throw together a bowl of your favorite movie snacks, and get cozy — bonus points if you break out the Christmas pajamas! Even more bonus points if they’re matching.
2. Go sledding down Thorson Hill. Have a race — loser buys hot chocolate from the Cage! 
3. Go ice skating at Skoglund together — open skate hours this semester are Sundays between 4-6 p.m. 
4. Go on a holiday lights tour of Northfield! After the sun goes down, take a walk through the brightly-lit neighborhoods around campus. Which house has your favorite decorations? 
5. Pop on your favorite Christmas tunes and decorate a tree together! You can find dorm-sized trees and ornaments at most retail stores. Or, if you feel so inclined, pick a random tree around campus and go crazy with handmade ornaments!
6. Bake winter treats together! See how many fun ways you can decorate a Christmas cookie, then assemble them into plates to give to your friends — or each other.
7. Grab a holiday drink together. Nothing says romance quite like chatting over peppermint mochas in the window booth at your favorite local coffee shop.
8. Have a Christmas karaoke night! You’ll fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la love this completely free, completely festive night in. The more the merrier — grab your friends!
9. Make a tie-blanket! Grab your keys and pop on down to the Faribault Joann Fabrics to pick out some fun fleece fabric for each other. When you get home, stick on your favorite holiday movie and make the blankets for each other. 
10. Bundle up in your favorite scarf and mittens and check out Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The falls typically completely freeze over during the winter, allowing visitors to explore the underside of the waterfall while enjoying the beautiful winter scenery. 
11. The European Christmas Market in St. Paul, Minnesota brings a European-inspired holiday experience to Minnesota, featuring charming stalls with unique gifts, festive foods, and mulled wine. It’s a cozy, must-visit destination that captures the spirit of Christmas, offering something special for every visitor. Wander through the booths together — or split up and pick something out for each other!
12. Check out Sam’s Christmas Village in Somerset, Wisconsin! Sam’s Christmas Village is a must-see holiday destination, offering millions of lights, festive displays, and fun activities like ice skating and train rides. It’s definitely worth the drive for a magical, unforgettable Christmas experience.
