Recently, I passed a few men in their mid-twenties and, stopping dead in my tracks, as I asked myself in a fit of panic: do the upperclassmen men’s hockey players still go here?
The question seemed a bit ridiculous at first — of course they still go here; they’ve played games this year. But, on second thought, I found myself questioning what seemed like an obvious answer — There’s been a distinct absence of backwards hats, a monopoly on the table at the very back of the cafe, and the closest thing we get to frat boys on campus. Although, we luckily still have the baseball team to fill this void.
I understand that most of the men’s hockey team live in apartments, or off-campus living, but with all the upperclassmen on the team being at least 23 years old, but there’s something eerie about your sudden absence. You guys still go to class, right? Not being an econ major means I typically don’t have a chance to take classes with the upperclassmen hockey players, but I’ll ask my econ major friends.
After watching your games this year, I know you guys attend this institution in some capacity. If college football and basketball has taught us anything over the years, it’s quite easy to bend the rules in collegiate athletics, but I’m sure this isn’t the case.
