There was plenty of drama during last week’s NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars trading up three spots to take Colorado’s Travis Hunter second overall was surprising, but Hunter’s teammate at Colorado, Shedeur Sanders, the talented quarterback known for his flashiness, rapping, and father, Deion Sanders, dropping all the way to pick #144 stole the headlines. However, I’m not here to talk about the football aspect of the 2025 NFL Draft. Every year, one of the most anticipated parts of the Draft is the outfits draftees pull out. Some flashy, some more nuanced, and some you just have to see to believe, the draft day fits never disappoint. For this edition of Gear Corner, here are my top-3 favorite outfits from the 2025 NFL Draft.
#3 Tyler Booker. The Alabama offensive lineman may have been selected 12th overall, but he’s 3rd for my outfit rankings. Booker rocked a sophisticated dark brown velvet jacket, adorned with “TB” initialed pins, a light brown pocket square, and a large “Book” chain. Matching the jacket with cream-colored pants and suede brown loafers (which matched his jacket), Booker would thrive at Paris Fashion Week.
#2 Maxwell Hairston. We have a necktie! Hairston’s energetic personality was on full display as he dapped up every player who was drafted before him. The Kentucky cornerback, who owns a clothing line, matched his energy with his outfit. Wearing a silver jacket accented with various blue hues, Hairston completed the look with a necktie, pocket square, and pants all the same beautiful blue shade. The outfit was a mixture of classy and personal, giving Hairston second place in these rankings.
#1 Travis Hunter. Who else could it be? Hunter’s outfit was one of the simplest: all he sported was a dress shirt, jacket, watch, pants, and sneakers. But it was the color scheme that stole the show. Hunter’s black shirt, pants, and shoes were a canvas that allowed his bright pink jacket to shine; it was the quintessential example of simple but effective. Hunter has always been his unapologetic self, and his suit showed off his vivacious personality.
I, in no way, claim to be a fashion expert (I’m probably the opposite), but can appreciate a good Draft day outfit. If you have any dissenting opinions on who had the best outfits, feel free to email me — I may struggle to talk about the NFL in detail, but I can go in depth about outfits.
