Q: How long have you been playing volleyball? What got you started playing?
A: I’ve been playing volleyball since I was in fourth grade. I started playing because all of my friends at the time were starting volleyball as well, so I wanted to give it a try.
Q: What’s one goal that you have for the season and another for off the court?
A: One goal that I have for this season is to support my teammates to the best of my abilities and bring a positive, energetic presence to the court. Off the court my goal is to enjoy the last month I have with volleyball and prioritize the moments I spend with my teammates.
Q: What are you looking forward to for the season?
A: I’m looking forward to continuing our winning streak, playing some ranked opponents, and pushing through the second stretch of conference. I also think about just enjoying the time spent with my friends and remembering the people that matter around me.
Q: For new Ole athletes, what’s a piece of advice you have for them when it comes to being a student athlete?
A: I think when it comes to being a student athlete, especially Division III, you have to remember the bigger picture of your sport. Sometimes athletics can feel super overwhelming and [it can feel] like the entire world depends on them, but at the end of the day, you’re building relationships with great people, getting exercise, and playing a sport that you love. So I think having a mindset that prioritizes growth and experiences rather than perfection will go a long way.
