Feb. 12 marked 100 days to graduation for the class of 2026. As part of a tradition starting last year with the class of 2025, the Office of Student Activities (OSA) hosted an event for seniors to celebrate this milestone.
The event included a photo booth, an opportunity to vote on speakers for commencement, and an invitation to write a letter to themselves to receive on graduation day. Seniors were also gifted a commemorative pint glass.
“We want it to be celebratory because it’s a big deal, you’ve been here three or four years, depending on a student’s experience, and you’re wrapping up, what our team hopes has been a dynamic experience,” Director of Student Activities Brandon Cash ’16 said in an interview with The Olaf Messenger. “It’s a countdown to commencement, yes, but it’s also a reminder to start celebrating and to be thinking about it in that mindset.”
For Cash and many seniors, including Bryn Hansen ’26, the event was an opportunity to appreciate the connections made along the way.
“As excited as I am for graduation, I know I’m going to miss St. Olaf. I’ve met so many amazing people, I’ve had so many wonderful experiences, and St. Olaf has become my home at this point,” Hansen said in an interview with The Olaf Messenger.
While the busyness of the semester has kicked in and seniors prepare to leave the Hill, members of the class of 2026 can look forward to their next celebration: Senior Days. This event will take place in the days leading up to graduation, May 20-23, and include Ole traditions such as Night at The Grand and Senior Carnival.
