I definitely have some complicated feelings about campus dining, but there are a few things that are my staples, which I will feel nostalgic for after I graduate. Overall, I am going to miss being able to tap my ID card and get prepared food instead of actually having to grocery shop and cook for myself.
My usual Cage pick-me-up is a strawberry lemonade — it’s bright and sweet and there for me all year long. When homework assignments are weighing me down and I’m stuck in the library or when I’m taking a walk outside, I love having my lemonade waiting for me at The Cage.
A more unusual favorite of mine is the seasoned steak fries in Stav with lots of ranch for dipping. In truth, the fries are just a method for me to get my fix of the ranch. I absolutely love the house made ranch here, be it with Stav fries or cheese curds at The Cage. There’s just something about it — good consistency, good flavor, and good things to eat with it. I love it, and I know it will be one of the little things I find myself missing. My friends definitely know about my love for the ranch, and they see me having it with fries every chance I get.
I also really love the Pause pizza and ice cream. The vanilla soft-serve is my favorite and a great treat after a long day. It definitely took me way too long to try their pizzas, but now I know I need to make sure I get the cheese pizza a few more times. One time, I was so excited to eat it that I almost got burned when it was served right out of the oven. Their pizza is so delicious and hits just right when you need it.
