A burglary occurred at the Flaten Art Barn, a space used for student concerts, meetings and other activities, sometime between 7 p.m., Oct. 6 and 3:05 a.m., Oct. 7.
“A sound bar and a fire extinguisher were reported missing, and a flat screen tv was damaged,” Director of Public Safety Fred Behr wrote in an email to the Manitou Messenger.
The motive for the break-in remains undetermined.
Public Safety is investigating the burglary with the assistance of the Northfield Police Department, Behr wrote. As the investigation is ongoing, Public Safety did not comment on how many perpetrators were involved or whether the incident was caught on camera.
