Aries: The Volcanic Sunset. A vibrant red, orange, and purple sunset that occurs when ash and sulfur dioxide are trapped in the stratosphere. Make sure to keep your distance if you want to witness this in person — ash is harmful to your lungs if inhaled. Yet for the adventure, thrill, and to watch something truly jaw-dropping, it’s worth the journey and the time to see this red sky. Take photos, share them with your friends, and tell a story no one will forget.
Taurus: The Green Flash of a Sunset. A rare and short-lived phenomenon where after the sun sets, a brief glow of a green-ish color appears for a few seconds before disappearing. Truly something that would be incredible to witness if given the chance to try and spot it. Imagine sitting on a beach, watching the sun transform into a mirage of color before a wonderful flash of green hits your eyes and the sun finally disappears for the day. It’s a symbol of good luck and fortune to witness. So, if you’ve seen it, you’re quite lucky: maybe use it to score a reward for yourself, or try something new.
Gemini: Morning Nautical Twilight. This is where the sun starts to come up, bit by bit, to flood the horizon with colors like orange and yellow while the sky slowly starts to transition from dark blues to something lighter. This is a slow transformation, just as everyone gradually starts to wake up one by one to start their day. The beauty of seeing these colors and starting your day on a good note is truly something to look forward to — make sure you ready yourself to make the day a splendid one.
Cancer: A Blue Hour. The sun barely starts to peek out from the horizon, causing a cascade of serene and rich blue. An indication of the morning and a smooth transition between night into a fresh new day. This tranquil scenery is magnificent to witness; just like humans peek out to see the sun on a new day and feel the warmth of its rays, the sun takes a peek before coming up too. Continue to rest before the sun comes up — there’s no shame in starting the day after it rises. Take the time to rest up so you feel good about yourself and the day ahead of you.
Leo: A Pink Hour. Pink, magenta, coral: all hues of the same color that flood the sky when the sun sets or rises at certain times, creating a burst of color at the start and end of a day. A very romantic scene: cotton candy clouds with hints of a more softly pink sky — who wouldn’t want to take a photo of this beautiful and breathtaking phenomenon? Why don’t you take someone you care about to see it with you someday? A partner, a friend or two — anyone, really. Show someone a moment that makes them stop rushing around and simply appreciate the sky. Being able to show someone something stunning can mark a wonderful moment in time, a good memory not only for yourself but for others as well.
Virgo: Dawn. The official start to a new day. Birds start singing their songs, alarms start to ring, and people get up when the ray of sun hits their eyes. How do you start the day? Take a shower? Drink a fresh cup of coffee with breakfast? It’s your time, so don’t rush it; whatever ritual you need to complete, the floor is yours. Mornings should be slow — you’re just waking up, after all — make that time count so you can project a better day ahead of you. Do something that’ll make the whole day wonderful, treat yourself more often.
Libra: A False Sunrise. An interesting phenomenon where light appears on the horizon before the sun truly rises. This typically consists of a bright light that breaks between the orange-ish sun beyond the horizon and the night sky, which is still up. The day hasn’t begun yet, but maybe it has for you. An early riser, or maybe you’ve pulled an all-nighter for something important. Even though it’s a false one, it doesn’t mean you have to start where everyone does. Don’t limit yourself with new beginnings, start when it feels right and hit the ground running with success and ambition.
Scorpio: Astronomical Twilight. The sun is almost gone, but the lovely colors of pinks, blues, and purples linger as the street lamps and buildings start to light the cities, exposing a wonderful night and the beginning of shops closing for the day. Maybe you stay out, maybe you don’t, it’s your choice. A few stars are in the sky right now, can you see them? Are you out where the city never sleeps, or has it started to drift off? What are you really waiting for? The right time? There isn’t one, it’s all your choice, so do whatever you want. Rest, party, have your own kind of fun. It’s your life — please live it.
Sagittarius: A False Sunset. A fun illusion where the sun has already set, but there is a mirage where the sun is still seen setting beyond the horizon line. Still wonderful to witness and a beautiful way to end a day. Isn’t it wonderful? Similar to a Golden Hour, it signifies a serene time. People are still outside, doing their own thing, hanging out with one another while life continues. Everyone is sun-kissed and beaming while doing their activities: some go back inside to eat and relax, while others stay out and chill, watching the sun set and the sky change color. Life isn’t short — make the most of it and enjoy yourself, do the things that make you happy and content, and continue to live one day at a time.
Capricorn: Dusk. The time before it becomes twilight. There’s still a bit of light, but it’s a matter of time before it starts to cool down and become dark and quiet. The sun starts to set, cascading beautiful shades of purple, red, and orange that mix together in the sky. These colors slowly fade away as the sky starts to darken, becoming somber and gloomy. But the night is still young; go for a walk, stay outside if you can, and watch what people start doing. Are they winding down and going home? Are they still out? What do you want to do? The choice is yours — own it. Do what you want when the day starts to come to an end, and enjoy the time.
Aquarius: A Golden Hour. A gorgeous burst of yellow rays that typically happens before a sunset or after a sunrise. The prime example of a perfect picture, the landscape covered with a beautiful golden hue that signifies the beginning of a new day or the end of one. No matter how the day ends, make sure the new one starts well for you, mentally and physically. Listen to yourself and your body. Are you okay? How do you feel? Even when the day starts or begins to end, let the golden hue signify a time to stay grounded, take a deep breath, and pay attention to your body and mind.
Pisces: Midnight. A pitch black time when nothing but stars, constellations, and planets illuminate the night. Everything stops and slows down; some people are sleeping, some people are still out and about, some people even become more active. Despite everything, one manages to stop, sit down, look up, and admire the starry night. Life might’ve stopped, but the world keeps spinning. There are still noises; what do you hear? The trees and leaves rustling, the wind blowing, insects singing throughout the night, critters moving in the dark? What can you see? Did a bat fly over your head? Is there a bird sitting on a branch? Does something see you, even if you can’t see it? The night life becomes still while nature awakens something else — make sure you stop and take a break for yourself, too.
